Portfolio of websites designed by Graham BostonAccredited Website Designer, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
In August 2006 I became an accredited Business Link web developer. Here is a selection of the sites I have designed between 1997 and 2008, starting with the most recent:
Evelyn needed a simple website to promote her medical writing services, and which enables potential clients to contact her easily. The site is valid XHTML 1.0. Website completed March 2008.
The brief for the Wessex Tree Consultancy website was to have a basic online presence and provide information on the various services offered. Website completed November 2007.
As with Our Paris Apartment (below), all the information is presented in one page, yet in a visually simple, accessible and easy to use way. The site is valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional and fully compatible with the latest web standards as defined by The World Wide Web Consortium. Website completed August 2007.
Like his other site, it employs a full eCommerce and customer-management system for the smooth processing of orders. Website structure completed June 2007, Site live in August 2007.
The site has a full 'shopping basket' system and private areas for wholesale and corporate customers. All the products (fabulous chocolates, mounds of fudge and old-fashioned sweets such as sugar-mice) were photographed in-house and retouched using Adobe Photoshop. Website completed November 2006. Testimonial (110k, Adobe Acrobat file). If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, it can be downloaded at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html (free, 15.MB). Alternatively, it is available on the CDs that come with computer magazines.
The brief was to create a site that contained all the information a potential guest might need to know, such as local places of interest, maps, booking form, enquiry form, photographs, room layout map etc, yet avoiding the complexity of a multi-page site. The client wanted the site to have the look of an interiors magazine article, to reflect the contemporary chic of the decor. Website completed June 2006.
Website completed March 2006.
You can listen to clips from a wide variety of her songs, in both lo- and hi-fi. Website completed February 2006.
The brief was to design a site that evoked 1950s visual style, whilst avoiding the usual clichés of holiday websites. Website completed February 2006.
Website completed December 2005.
Website completed Autumn 2003. Please note that the Centre has now closed, due to flood damage in August 2004.
The site is fully e-commerce enabled, and once the framework was set up and graphics such as the large banner designed, I trained the proprietor, Jonathan Barnett, in how to add products to the site, take orders and to make changes as and when he wishes. Google picked up the site automatically, and within two weeks of being online, Jonathan was receiving on average an order per day. The site was expanded dramatically in the autumn of 2004 by the addition of over 7,000 individual audio clips, so that you can listen to samples from every CD he sells. 1st phase of website completed Spring 2004. Please note that since November 2007 this website has been redesigned by someone else, so is no longer part of my portfolio.
This website was commissioned by John and Fiona for Laurence's 21st birthday, and contains examples of his paintings, drawings and sculptures, as well as stills from an animation. The aim with this site was to present Laurence's portfolio in as simple, clean and accessible a way as possible. It contains an example of a simple java animation. Website completed September 2005.
The site keeps mostly to a simple frame, so there is almost no scrolling required. To move from page to page you either click on the 'next page' button (bottom right) or use the large navigation bar, which highlights the page you are looking at. Website completed April 2005.

ContactGraham Boston, BenefitsI design and host websites for individuals, companies and organisations in the Gloucestershire area, although if you are happy to communicate by email, phone, post and fax, you could of course be anywhere in the world! I particularly enjoy working with people involved in an artistic or holistic field. Having a website enables you to:
OptionsYou can have anything from a simple template-based site starting at only £250, to a fully a la carte service designed to your own specifications. Your site can also be hosted, from only £75 per year, to £150 for larger sites. Optionally, you can have your own domain name ('www.yourname.com') and/or your own secure credit-card transaction facilities, so that you can sell products direct from your website to customers around the world. To discuss your needs, please call me for a no-obligation chat on (01242) 228796. I will do my best to answer your questions and clarify your options. If you are serious about wanting a website, call me to arrange a free, no-obligation meeting at my home in Cheltenham. Why Choose Me to Design Your Site?Since I work from home in Leckhampton, Cheltenham (Gloucestershire), my overheads are low, and because of this I am able to offer competitive rates compared to most web design bureaux. I am flexible in the way that I work, and clients have told me they appreciate that I have understood they may be unfamiliar with the technical side of computers and graphics, and my guidance in turning their ideas or wishes into reality. My aim is to help you have a web site that fits in with your individual aims or the aims of your business or organisation. My philosophy is to empower you rather than making you dependent on me, by providing you wherever possible with the tools and know-how to be able to update your site for yourself. That way you won't have to keep paying me to do it for you! TestimonialsPilgrims Chocolates and Fudge. About MeI am interested in all aspects of living holistically, and teach astrology as well as see clients for astrological consultations. In 1994 I gained a practitioner certificate in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the learnings from which still powerfully inform my work and life. In 1997 I wrote 'Astrology, a Beginner's Guide', published by Hodder Headline, and co-authored, with James Hunt, The Career Fulfillment Guide'. I publish Gloucestershire Connections, a bimonthly broadsheet began in 1992 with the late Peter Hewitt, author of 'Science of the Gods'. My personal website is at www.grahamboston.com.
